> October 2011 - Building Design and Construction Magazine Article

As Buying Force’s Supplier Vetting Accreditation scheme goes from strength to strength, Supply Chain Manager Darren Pettit was interviewed by Building Design and Construction Magazine about Buying Force’s accredited supplier list and unique tendering processes.  Tailored to achieve the best possible results for the client, while obtaining the greatest amount of work for the client, the Buying Force processes are proven to be robust and completely transparent, as well as fully compliant with the RICS Service Charge Code.

> September 2011 - Putting the RICS Service Charge Code into practice - Breakfast Briefing

Buying Force held a free breakfast seminar on the updated RICS service charge code in central London on 22nd September. The event was chaired by Paul Harding, Director of DTZ & Chairman of the Real Service Group.  Guest speakers from British Land and DTZ gave an overview of the new code and look at its newest inclusions on sustainability. Two speakers from Buying Force were also involved. Oliver Livick, Procurement Team Leader discussed things to be considered when undertaking a procurement exercise and potential benefits of aggregation, whilst Darren Pettit, Supply Chain Manager, looked at the importance of supplier vetting and assessment and how it relates to the new service charge code.

> June 2011 - Oliver Livick and Martyn Avis Complete S/NVQ

Oliver Livick and Martyn Avis have both recently completed the S/NVQ in Supply Chain Management Level 4. The course was made up of 10 units based on work based experience.  Both Oliver and Martyn are now able to apply for full CIPS membership to become fully MCIPS accredited. Congratulations to both on completing this qualification.

> May 2011 - Roy Bean joins Buying Force

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Roy Bean to our Procurement Team. Roy has worked in procurement for a number of years and his recruitment brings our procurement team back to full strength.

> June 2010 – New Electronic Tendering Platform (ETP)

All tenders are now running on the long awaited new ETP system after a trial with a small tender. The new system provides a more user friendly interface than the previous one, and provides a secure online data store, and additional auditability.

> May 2010 – Darren Pettit passes IOSH course

In January 2010 Darren Pettit, Supply Chain Manager attended an intensive three day IOSH course. Congratulations go to him for passing this, which was confirmed in May 2010.
